»Project Title: Terminal phase-Out Management plan for CFCs in the Gambia

Development Objectives

Overall objective is to develop a plan for the implementation of the specific activities in a gradual, systematic and sustainable phase out of CFCs in The Gambia

Activities

  • Recruitment of an international consultant
  • Procurement of tools and equipment
  • Review, strengthening and enforcement of ODS regulations and training of customs officers and review of the training modules/curricula.
  • Training of refrigeration technicians in good practices and retrofit to new refrigerants and serving of hydrocarbon technology and equipment for training and demonstrations
  • Technical assistance and equipment programme for regional retrofit centers and programmes for access to tool kits, spare parts, alternative fluids and conversion
  • Reporting and monitoring of TPMP activities
  • Payment of incentives

Intended Results

Through this project, CFTCs will be completely phased-out in the Gambia by 1st January 2010.
