»Project Title: Strengthening the response to HIV/AIDS

Development Objectives

The project aims to enhance the institutional capacity of the National Aids Secretariat to coordinate national response to HIV/AIDS and strengthen the national Network of PLWHAs

Activities

  • Support the review and formulation of a new Strategic Plan.
  • Capacity development to CCM/GFATM to facilitate Global Fund Resources
  • Support joint UN/Government scooping mission
  • Establishment of small grants facility to address most emerging needs of Support Groups
  • Conduct training on Home Based Care for newly formed Support Groups
  • Conduct training for Lay Counselors to provide support
  • Sensitized women Kaffos on HIV/AIDS prevention so as to prevent stigma and discrimination.
  • Support finalization of Business Coalition Constitution
  • Support UNAIDS activities
  • Monitoring on-going

Strengthened National AIDS Secretariat, Networks of PLWAs Support Groups and enhanced Project Management

Project Status : The project has been running for 5 years and currently plans are on the way to develop a new follow up project to consolidate the achievements made so far and to implement critical interventions.
