»Project Title: Fight Against Socio-Economic Exclusion (FASE) Project

Development Objectives

The development objective of the FASE project is to improve the socio-economic status of poor people, targeting women and youth (groups and individuals) while ensuring a participatory planning process and improved management of development activities.

Activities

i. Review and improvement of institutional frameworks for enterprise development, employment creation and poverty reduction
ii. Training of groups in the management of community-based organisations, enterprise management and livelihood skills
iii. Provision of support for the establishment of community-level micro-projects
iv. Linking of project beneficiaries with support service institutions.
v. Provision of support for the establishment and functioning of the Strategy for Poverty Alleviation Coordination Office (SPACO)

Intended Results

i. To empower women, youths as well as micro – entrepreneurs to develop capabilities, sustainable income generating activities and viable micro enterprises as well as specific social protection schemes.
ii. Strengthen the capacity of public, private and civil society organisations to provide efficient technical assistance, support savings and micro – entrepreneurs.
iii. Support national capacity to formulate policies and strategies to reduce poverty, reinforce synergy among poverty related development programmes in order to respond adequately to the needs of the target groups.
