»Project Title: Support for the Development and Implementation of an MDG-based Poverty Reduction and Growth Strategy in the Gambia (MDG Project)

Development Objectives

The main objective of the MDG project is to contribute to poverty reduction and sustainable development through support for the development and implementation of a national poverty reduction and growth strategy.

Activities

i. Preparation of the second Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP II)
ii. Conduct of MDG needs assessment and costing exercise
iii. Organisation of a donor round table conference to mobilize resources for PRSP II

Intended Results

i. An MDG-based PRSP developed, together with needs assessment and costing
ii. Resources mobilized for implementation of PRSP
