»Project Title: Rural Labour Force Survey Project (RLFS)

Development Objectives

The main objective of the Rural Labour Force Survey Project is to provide primary data to inform the current study on the Impact of Macroeconomics and Social Policies on Employment and Poverty Reduction in The Gambia, in order to provide policy options to engender pro-poor economic growth in The Gambia.

Activities

i. Recruitment of international consultant
ii. Questionnaire design
iii. Training of field workers, and pretesting of questionnaire
iv. Conduct of field work and interviews
v. Training of data entry clerks and coders
vi. Data analysis and processing
vii. Rural labour force data incorporated into country poverty study
viii. Study report finalized and distributed

Intended Results

i. Preparatory activities for conduct of survey undertaken
ii. Data Collection exercise conducted
iii. Data analysis conducted
iv. Revised country poverty study produced
